Poem for Friday

Collapse )

Spent all morning working on the slide show DVD, all afternoon meeting with hotel event manager, all early evening at rehearsal, all suppertime at dinner with my parents at local eatery since none of us felt like dealing with cooking, all night feeling like I am getting apaulled's cold which is the VERY LAST THING I need right now! Tomorrow various relatives are arriving at various times and we are all going to services in the evening, when son will get his kiddush cup and I get to lead the blessing over the Shabbat candles. People have been mailing me Star Trek news all day, mostly stuff about the new restored original series in syndication, but I have not had a spare moment even to read the notes fully. I am going to be so behind when I finally get back to it...

Hey Toronto people -- on Monday my friend Therese's movie I Was a Teenage Feminist is being screened at Ryerson University, followed by a Q&A with the director, whom I knew when we both lived in Chicago but she's Canadian by birth so this is a homecoming for her. The screening is to benefit Ryerson's feminist magazine McClung's and the Ryerson Women's Center, from whom you can get advance tickets for only $3! If you go, please say hello to Therese for me!
