Poem for Thursday and Richmond Arts

I have spent a wonderful Wednesday in Richmond with Paul and Delta from which I did not return home till after 10 p.m. (ha, we survived 12:12:12 on 12/12/12)! We met up at the VMFA, which has an exhibit of Dale Chihuly glass -- the largest-ever platform installation ever assembled by Chihuly, a huge collection of baskets accompanied by Chihuly's personal collection of Native American blankets, a neon starburst -- and had lunch in the cafe there, including chocolate mousse.

From there we went to Maymont Park, which includes a gorgeously restored Victorian mansion full of antiques and currently decorated for Christmas, a local wildlife zoo and farm, and a nature center. And then we went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden's winter light festival, where we had dinner in the Robins Tea House, where we had zucchini cakes and pumpkin curry while overlooking the decorated trees and walked through the conservatory and gardens all lit for the holidays.
