Poem for Saturday, DS9 and Halloween

I had a very nice Halloween, not one of the more exciting ones I've celebrated, but that was fine. Spent the morning writing a review of Deep Space Nine's "Treachery, Faith and the Great River" (which I almost forgot to watch, being completely confused about what day of the week it was -- last week this time I was having dinner with my cousins in California). Started folding laundry, but I kept getting distracted by people posting their kids' school parades and costumes and stuff, so it's still not done, and now I'm too busy catching up on RDJ and U2 on Graham Norton.

In between, we went to the neighborhood Halloween party and parade in the early evening while it was still light -- decorations, music, pizza, lots and lots of kids chasing each other (many princesses trouncing Hulks, which warmed my heart). We had seven or eight Elsas of a range of ages and ethnic backgrounds, plus quite a few Mutant Ninja Turtles and at least three Captain Americas. (I went in modified Renfaire clothes with my purple spider peplum.) Trick or treating seemed to be in packs tonight, and we had visitors pretty steadily from 6:30 till close to 9.
