Poem for Saturday, Twisted, Royal Night Out, Joust

The weather on Friday was really gorgeous -- a bit hot in the afternoon, but we'd slept with the windows open and left them that way past noon. I spent all morning indoors working on a review of Voyager's "Twisted", a terrible episode redeemed for me by Janeway/Chakotay and other shipper concerns, but then I got out and saw deer and chatted with neighbors growing watermelons in their front yard.

We had dinner with my parents, half-paying attention to the US Open (we are bummed about Serena), then we came home and watched A Royal Night Out courtesy a European friend. It's the story of Princess Elizabeth's celebration of V.E. day with her sister (with Rupert Everett as George VI), and although it's rather fictionalized -- hanging out with call girls and crushing on soldiers -- it's very enjoyable!
