Poem for Monday and Virginia Renaissance Faire

Collapse )

We actually had a really nice Sunday! Though there was rain forecast for the afternoon, the Virginia Renaissance Faire opened for its last weekend of the season, so we went and met Cheryl on the grounds at Lake Anna Winery. It was Pirate Weekend and there were also lots of Pride celebration items, though we never saw the Queen. We did see rescue greyhounds, jousters on horses, The Pyrates Royale, The Jackdaws, strolling musicians, jewelry, crafts, and costumes, plus we ate crepes.

After the faire, we went to Carlos O'Kelly's in Stafford for Mexican food, then we drove home ahead of the rain and watched the Tony Awards in our respective homes; I'm sorry Mean Girls didn't win anything, but I'm happy The Band's Visit and Once On This Island did so well, and the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School theater students and teacher were wonderful.
